Updated Service Opportunities:
- The Lower School's School Store is in need of volunteers, sorting and organizing materials. Responsible Upper School students in need of service hours may contact Heidi Harrington to sign up and help out after school.
- It's football season, and we are in need of student volunteers to assist with the concessions stand at our home games! Come out to support our Cougars and serve your peers--and earn a few service hours! Students can sign up at this link or see Miss Van de Voorde for details.
- Holy Spirit Catholic Church is looking for high school juniors and seniors to assist with teaching Sunday School, on a regular or as-needed basis. If you're interested in serving the local Church in this way, please contact Mrs. Allison Adair.
- Students can now earn service hours for filling the following liturgical ministry roles at their parishes: (1) altar server, (2) lector, (3) Extraordinary minister of Holy Communion, (4) usher, and (5) choir member. One service hour is earned any time a student attends Mass and fills one of these roles during the liturgy. N.B. Only one hour may be earned per Mass even if the student fills more than one role.

In the spirit of our school motto, "to serve and not to be served," all Upper School students are to dedicate hours of their year to the service of others. This is not merely a numerical requirement, but a way of life which must characterize all Christians, and therefore, each member of the HSP community. We hope that a generous spirit of charity, of dedicating one’s time and energy to the service of others—and through them, God!—may grow in each student as he or she dedicates these hours to service.
Junior high requirement: 10 hours
High school requirement: 20 hours
Students are responsible for keeping track of their hours and turning in this signed form to Miss Van de Voorde by April 30, 2017.
